Accommodations & Dining
At IGC, we are committed to fostering healthy social and emotional development in each camper. Our cabins are designed to do just that!
Campers are housed by age to ensure the best social and emotional environment and to allow new friendships to be formed with campers from around the world. Our chalet-style cabins are air-conditioned and include fully equipped, private bathroom facilities.
Two caring counselors live in each cabin and are tasked with making the cabin a home-away-from-home for each camper while they are here. From the moment the campers arrive to the time they head home, our counselors create a positive, supportive summer camp experience. Counselors take an active role in each camper’s day: from wake-up, to meals, to recreational activities, to just getting to know each camper as an individual. Counselors are there exclusively for the campers.
Dining at the International Cafe
Under the direction of our chefs, campers enjoy meals buffet style at the International Cafe.
The breakfast buffet includes fresh fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, bagels, eggs, meats, potatoes, french toast/pancakes/waffles, a variety of cold cereals, as well as milk, juice, and hot chocolate.
For lunch and dinner, our chefs prepare a full course hot buffet menu as well as soup, a full salad bar, a build-your-own-wrap bar, and fresh fruit.
The daily varied menu always includes vegetarian choices. In order to accommodate those with nut allergies, we do not use any nut products on campus. Our kitchen is able to accommodate most other dietary allergies with advance notice. (Be sure to list any dietary requirements on the physician’s form, and please call to confirm any specific individual needs or accommodations.)
Our Traditional Camp Store
During recreational activity times, the canteen is always open for campers to purchase merchandise as well as sweets and treats!
The canteen stocks IGC apparel, souvenirs, and gymnastics accessories (including shorts, leotards, palm grips, tape, pre-wrap, and wristbands). Incidentals such as soap, toothpaste, shampoo, and laundry detergent are also available.
The canteen is also open during check-in and check-out for parents to purchase items for their campers.
You can add spending money to your camper’s canteen account at any time through your “MY IGC” account. Because of the variety of ages and interests of our campers, it is difficult to recommend an amount of spending money. From past experience, we have found most parents put $50 to $100 in their camper’s account to start.
Campers are not allowed to overspend their accounts, and they are responsible for budgeting their own spending money. This should be discussed between you and your campers prior to your arrival at camp. Unspent canteen money will be refunded to the credit card on file in your “MY IGC” account within 15 days of your departure from camp.
